Our vampires are not dead here. I know weird huh? They are actually born or turned the disease attacks the body and builds it to be better. However, it does not kill off the person. They simply cease to age at the time they were turned or for the born, they stop aging at the age of 25-40 it varies for each vampire. The disease attacks their body changing them over a course of days. The change is painful, and some feel that they teeter at the edge of death before their body adjusts and becomes what they are.

They are five times stronger than any human; their flesh is extremely allergic to sunlight and so to keep from painful welts and lesions forming they stay out of it. Silver is poisonous and if taken in a large enough dose can kill and even seriously incapacitate a vampire. Vampires teeter on a constant doubled bladed sword; They must feed to keep up their health and strength. Nourishment only found in blood of humans, keeps them contained but if they consume too much they become addicted like a drug and will lose themselves to crazy madness. At which time they are hunted down and disposed of before they can become a danger to themselves, others or any of the humans.

It is a lot for one to be turned; In fact, most makers are very picky and selective of whom they turn, So the population of vampires is not exceedingly high. You cannot be turned just by being bitten it takes a completely cycle and process from start to finish of a vampire creating its progeny.
